In 2008 baseclick GmbH with its head office in Neuried, Germany was founded with the shareholders of BASF Venture Capital GmbH, Ludwigshafen and Prof. Thomas Carell, LMU, Munich.


 
The core of the baseclick technology is the "click reaction", a copper catalyzed cycloaddition allowing virtually unlimited functionalization of both small synthetic oligonucleotides and large gene fragments with unprecedented efficiency. Characteristic therefore are the broad application possibilities, high yields and easy & quick reaction conditions using readily available and inexpensive reagents. baseclick holds granted worldwide patents for this use.
